Like many of my fellow Gen Xers travel has been a huge part of my life. Even when I wasn't doing it, I was thinking about it. As one of that original backpacker generation that jostled our way around continents, on chicken buses, and train roofs, heavy packs on our backs, and physical guidebooks thumbs to shreds in our hands, we made new friends and got into scrapes in hostels all over the world. And we did it all on a pittance. 

Times change, and while we're less willing to put up with a flea infested dorm room (where at least one person insists on rustling plastic bags at 5am), our wandering hearts have remained as intoxicated by travel as always. If you recognize that backpacker of old, this site is for you. You'll get tips and tricks for new spots to visit, or fresh looks and information at old faves. And it'll all come wrapped in the comfort (and maybe even a bit of luxury) you've come to relish at this point in your travel journey.
